Installation 2015. An exhibition looking into the history of the fusion of cultures, like a rough diamond transformed into a multi-layered, multi-facetted city that once had the sweet odour of biscuits and chocolate.
Review by Sandra Caltagirone in l’Art Même n°67, 2015 / extract “C’est un regard d’Indienne originaire d’un pays dont l’histoire est marquée par la colonisation que l’artiste porte sur la ville flamande enrichie grâce aux colonies, mais un regard empreint d’humour et de subtile poésie. / Ainsi l’exposition Las huellas de la erósion en Koekenstad se conçoit-elle comme une histoire dans laquelle l’érosion est un agent de transformation qui conduit à la fusion entre le Venezuela et la “Ville des biscuits” (Koekenstad), surnom donné à Anvers en référence aux nombreuses biscuiteries qui, autrefois, répandaient leurs effluves sucrées jusqu’au cœur de la cité.”

“It is an Indian look from a country whose history is marked by the colonization that the artist covers the Flemish city enriched through the colonies, but a look tinged with humor and subtle poetry. / Thus the Las huellas of erosion exposure Koekenstad is partly seen as a story in which erosion is a process agent that leads to fusion between Venezuela and the “City of biscuits” (Koekenstad) nickname in Antwerp in reference to the many bakery that once spread their sweet fragrance to the heart of the city.”
